YES Bangladesh brought together 50 youth leaders for a day-long capacity-building training on gender stereotypes, digital safety, media literacy, lobbying, and advocacy, equipping young people to drive positive social change.
On 16 August 2025, Youth Engagement for Sustainability (YES) Bangladesh organized a day-long training titled “Inclusive Interactive Capacity Building Discussion on Gender Stereotypes, Digital Safety, Media Literacy, Lobbying, and Advocacy.” The initiative was implemented with support from JAAGO Foundation Trust and Plan International Bangladesh, generously funded by the Embassy of the Netherlands in Bangladesh. The training received an overwhelming response, with more than 300 young people registering within a short period, demonstrating the growing interest of youth in addressing gender stereotypes, strengthening digital safety, enhancing media literacy, and promoting advocacy for social change. Due to limited capacity, only 50 youth leaders, community activists, and development practitioners were selected to participate.
Through interactive learning sessions, group discussions, and practical exercises, participants explored ways to challenge harmful social norms, strengthen digital resilience, improve media literacy, and develop effective lobbying and advocacy skills. The programme encouraged collaboration, knowledge sharing, and youth leadership, empowering participants to become champions for gender equality and social justice in their communities.
YES Bangladesh remains committed to creating inclusive learning opportunities that equip young people with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to lead positive change and contribute to a more equitable and inclusive Bangladesh.
